In a tweet posted this morning, GAME said that it had "not set a price for the console as no pricing information is available. We want to give nothing but 100% fact.

"This will allow us to stick to our pre-order price promise. We wouldn't want to have to change the price on you now."

The lack of official information hasn't stopped other retailers from estimating Xbox One's price, however.

Last night, UK retailer Zavvi pinned a £399.99 price on the next-gen console.

Microsoft announced Xbox One last night. EA Sports boss Andrew Wilson confirmed the news to Polygon, but claims that the montage (which you can see for yourself below) contains "real game assets straight out of our game teams" and that, in some cases, the games look even better than what was shown yesterday.

"It was all pre-rendered," Wilson told the site. "Listen, we're not hiding behind that fact. This was an event that we've been planning for a number of months on a new platform. And what we wanted to do was use real game assets, so they're all real game assets, straight out of our game teams, but we had to get it...

Joystiq has published a report of the upcoming console's specs, which is said to include an "8 Core CPU custom built by Microsoft" and the DDR3 memory. The console's online requirement was discussed by Microsoft's corporate vice president Phil Harrison last night, who told Kotaku that he believed users would have to connect Xbox One to the Internet once a day.

However, Microsoft later told Polygon that Harrison's comments referred to a "potential scenario" and that it would not be confirming details of the console's online requirements "today".

It isn't yet clear why Xbox One requires a connection to the Internet every 24 hours or what happens if it goes longer without being connected, but it's presumably linked to...
